Questions

Baptism
FAQ.

A few things you may be wondering before taking your next step.

Why should I be baptized?

Baptism is an important step of obedience for anyone who has decided to follow Jesus. It is a public expression of your faith and follows the example Jesus gave us.

Do I need to be a member of Living Word?

No. You do not need to be a member of Living Word Church to be baptized with us. Baptism is about your personal decision to follow Jesus.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing that can get wet. Our team will send you any additional details you need before your baptism service so you'll know exactly what to expect.

Can my family and friends come?

Absolutely. Baptism is something worth celebrating, and we encourage you to invite the people who are important to you to be there for this moment.

What if I was baptized as a child?

We believe baptism follows a personal decision to put your faith in Jesus. If you were baptized before you personally made that decision, you may choose to be baptized again as an expression of your own faith.

How do I know if my child is ready?

The most important thing is that your child understands the decision to follow Jesus and wants to be baptized because of their own faith. Our Kids Baptism Guide can help you have that conversation together.
